Angels Today
Angels Today is a community dedicated to addressing socio-civic issues through collective efforts and love-centered initiatives. Born from a deep passion for the well-being of our fellow men and women, Angels Today was founded on the belief that, in a world full of challenges, love and compassion are the driving forces needed to create meaningful change in society.
During the challenging years of 2020-2021, Angels Today made a significant impact by regularly providing hot meals to our children, helping to ease the burden on parents who were struggling to earn an income due to prolonged lockdowns. Their unwavering support during this critical time was a lifeline for many families. Even today, Angels Today continues to stand by us, playing an integral role in helping us achieve our mission and making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
Happy Mover's Club
We are the “Happy Movers Club,” a group of four enthusiastic young volunteers with a shared passion for making a difference in children’s lives through teaching. Since mid-2023, we’ve been dedicated to helping Grades 4-6 students at the Sunshine Club improve their reading skills, meeting with them every second Saturday of the month.
In each session, we prepare a story for the children to read, whether aloud together or quietly on their own. We then guide them in analyzing the story, checking their comprehension and identifying those who might need extra support. As “ates” and teachers of the Happy Movers Club, we adapt our approach to meet each child where they are, recognizing that everyone learns at a different pace. With each session, we gain a deeper understanding of their collective and individual needs.
Our challenge—and joy—is to make learning both exciting and fun, keeping the kids fully engaged. As we look ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, we’re hopeful that more volunteers will join us in this rewarding journey, helping to inspire and uplift even more young learners.
The Philippine FoodBank Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to alleviating hunger and reducing food waste across the Philippines. At the forefront of food rescue efforts, the foundation collects surplus and near-expiry food products from generous donors, including food producers and retailers. These rescued food items are then distributed to marginalized communities, such as orphanages, schools, parishes, and beyond.
For many years, the foundation has been a steadfast supporter of Sunshine Club, consistently providing essential food supplies to our families. Earlier this year, they began a new initiative, delivering fresh bread to our families on a weekly basis. Their ongoing support has been instrumental in helping us ensure that our children and their families have access to nutritious food, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership.
Visiting Friends
Our “Visiting Friends” play a vital role in keeping our children’s spirits high through a variety of fun and intellectually stimulating activities.
They generously provide the resources needed to plan and execute these events, offering our children not just valuable learning experiences but also cherished memories that last a lifetime.
